Pastoral
From the day they arrive at King's House School, all the children feel that they belong to a larger community. In Nursery and Reception the teachers are all in close contact with home and the children feel safe, learning and exploring in a caring environment. Whilst in the Junior Department, the boys develop a sense of independence and an enjoyment of learning under the guidance of their form teachers. In the Senior Department the tutor system remains and the boys meet their form tutor each morning and for the weekly PSHE sessions and develop further independence moving from class to class. Throughout the school, the small classes allow for close monitoring and evaluation of each pupil's progress and well being.
Nurse
King's House has a qualified nurse who is available throughout the day from 10.00am to 2.00pm. If a pupil needs to be taken to hospital, the nurse will contact the child's parents or guardians. In less serious cases, where it is clearly not in the pupil's best interest to remain at school, the nurse will contact a parent and ask for the pupil to be collected from school.
