Examinations & Assessments

We are constantly assessing the boys’ progress as we teach them in all parts of the School.

In the Nursery Department we use the EYFS Profile to track progress of the boys and girls. In the Junior Department we use assessments in reading, Mathematics, spelling and written to help assess how the boys are performing and to flag up any areas of concern.

In Year 4 boys experience School examinations for the first time, but only in a small number of subjects.

From Year 5 upwards the boys have examinations twice a year, either in November or January and in the Summer Term.

Taking examinations is an integral part of the learning process, their purpose is to help pupils and teachers assess what has been understood and to address any concerns. We also use various assessments throughout the year in different subjects to gauge progress.
