YEAR 2 TRIP TO PAINSHILL PARK
Year Two had the most exciting and fascinating day at Painshill Park on Wednesday 8th June. The morning was spent pond-dipping, searching for minute creatures in the most beautiful lake, amongst swans, geese and their young. The boys found plenty of water-boatmen, water snails and leeches but were thrilled to find less common water-scorpions and huge excitement when a frog found its way into one net!. The boys then spent some time in groups using charts and magnifying glasses to identify their catches.
Following lunch in the beautiful grounds, the boys were entertained by a drama company who put on a very absorbing version of Pinocchio with plenty of audience participation, when the boys had opportunities to volunteer as sharks, octopi, dancers, donkeys and harlequins. The gappy smiles and laughter were a delight to behold.
This was followed by a ‘Mystery Trail' around the grounds and through the wonderful grotto, finding letters that eventually spelt out the name of a character from Pinocchio......THE FOX.
We were very thankful for fantastic weather and very proud of our well-behaved boys. Their fantastic manners were noted by the staff at Painshill and commented upon. We could not have asked for more.
