RECEPTION AND YEAR ONE NATIVITY PLAY

Reception classes teamed up with Year One to produce a traditional Nativity in the very appropriate setting of St Matthias Church. Thanks to a band of very generous costume-maker parents, we saw Kings riding camels, complete with some rather lively page boys,  Mary, Joseph and Donkey getting very fed up with their constant rejections by the Innkeepers, and a very scary King Herod. The Angels twinkled and the shepherds warmed their toes by the fire. The Star shone brightly and the The Angel Gabriel was helped by 35 angelic narrators dressed as choirboys. Roman soldiers shouted at everyone to wake up and get themselves to Bethlehem to be counted.  And following the birth of Tiny Tears, one shepherd held the baby Jesus to the audience and declared, "Cor, isn't ‘e sweet!".

It was a delightful performance and we are all very proud of our boys who sang and spoke beautifully (and loudly!).

Years 2 and 3 had their share of the spotlight the very next day.................
